A Day in the Life

I had a friend tell me the other day "I would love to follow you around for a day just to see what you do." Well, here is your chance, this is a day in the life of a parts vendor, an eBay Seller, and someone who works 40 hours a week.

8:00 AM - Alarm went off
9:15 AM - Got up, took a shower
10:00 AM - Ate two Eggos and checked my e-mail and RSS Feeds
10:30 AM - Got the truck all loaded up with a load of stuff to my new shop
11:00 AM - Went to my parents house for a while, Dad and brother are at Barrett Jackson right now so wanted to visit my Mom and dog. Brought her home some tupperware I've had since November too :)
12:30 PM - Arrive at shop in Everett, unload truck
12:45 PM - Hang up hubcaps on wall friends have given me (pictures to follow)
1:15 PM - Hang up license plates on wall friends have given me
2:00 PM - Wash bird poop off truck, parked under a tree for an hour yesterday, think I got hit 30-40 times, ouch
2:30 PM - Leave shop
2:45 PM - Stop by a person's place who has a truck I've been interested in, might be for sale. It is an extremely rare truck and the guy is interested in selling it, stay tuned for future updates
3:20 PM - Arrive at Dick's (The Real Dick's) in Seattle to get some grub before the Seahawks game
3:30 PM - Arrive at friends place to watch Seahawks game
4:00 PM - Hawks looking good!
5:00 PM - Surfing the Internet while watching the Seahawks game, I call this multitasking
6:00 PM - Get two items listed on eBay

426 Hemi Exhaust Manifold Fastener Kit

Max Wedge Exhaust Manifold Fastener Kit

7:00 PM - Hawks win! Going to the Super Bowl! Never thought this would happen. Best of all, I win a $10.00 bet with a friend, not that I would ever gamble or anything
7:30 PM - Arrive back home, get a couple of items shipped
8:00 PM - Watched West Wing on TV, one of my favorite shows
9:00 PM - Try to watch Family Guy but for some reason they are showing a rerun of Everybody Loves Raymond, annoying
9:05 PM - Check my e-mail and answer a couple of questions
9:10 PM - E-mail a friend about previously mentioned truck
9:15 PM - Finish packing up a couple of items I will ship tomorrow
9:30 PM - Make my lunch for tomorrow at work, nothing beats a good PB&J
10:00 PM - Write this post about my day
10:30 PM - Go to bed

On the News!

I was selling some Seahawks tickets on eBay this week (GO HAWKS!) and ended up having the winning bidder have one negative for non feedback. The guy ended up not paying and I had two tickets I had to sell in two days. I have a friend who works for a company called Stubhub.com and I decided to try and sell the ticket on that site. I went down to drop the tickets off and Q13 (one of the local news stations) was doing a story on fraudulent tickets. They asked to interview me and since I am always trying to get free publicity for my business I agreed. I was on the 10 O'Clock news last night for about two seconds. Unfortunately they did not list my business, but it was kind of fun.

I will say this about Stubhub, I listed my tickets last night on the site for $30.00 more per ticket than I thought I would and they sold in an hour!

Exciting Announcement

I don't talk about personal stuff here very often, but for all three people who read my blog on a regular basis I have a big announcement. Selling parts on eBay, to friends, and at car shows has been a hobby for a long time. I have worked a 40 hour a week job at a company called Flex-Plan Services. I have decided to leave my job and start selling full time. This is a big jump for me and don't know how this will work out, but I will be able to spend a lot more time on the business. We have a lot of excited new products coming soon, so stay tuned. The attached picture is a picture in front of the new shop in Everett, Washington. Also, since we will have a commercial location we will be getting a Dealers License and be able to buy and sell cars! Very exiting!

Barrett Jackson

I am sure most of you who will read this blog know what the Barrett Jackson auction is. It is the biggest auction in the world, from 1/18-1/22 they are selling cars all day long, over 2,000 total. My brother and Dad are at the auction right now as well as a couple of other friends. Rumor is one of them bought a car...

Some prices for cars sold:

1978 Lil Red Express - $52,000
1969 Dodge Hemi Super Bee - $200,000
1970 Plymouth AAR 'Cuda - $210,000
1970 Dodge Charger 440-6 Pack, vinyl top torn, doors didn't line up, etc - $62,000

This is getting crazy, I actually had a 69 Super Bee I sold a month or two ago, maybe I didn't ask enough :O
