Vacation!

Well, I have left my previous job behind and am now doing Tallzag full time, but before this happens I am taking a much needed vacation! I am traveling to Zihuatanejo, Mexico and plan on resting the whole week some place warm.

Amazing What You Find Down Strange Alleys

Most people who know me know that I have a less than healthy obsession with old police cars and since I am from the State of Washington, the Washington State Patrol gets most of my attention. I was looking for a lunch place last week and went down a wrong alley and found this sitting there. Hope he gave as good as he got.

Swap Meet

Went to an early swap meet last weekend and had a lot of fun. It was much bigger than I expected and got a few goodies including some hub caps and an Alaska license plate that had been on a 66 Dart above the Arctic Circle! Saw this car for sale and had to share. It is a 1968 Plymouth Fury Convertible, the sign said "awesome shape, no bondo, 15k". All I can say is wow, that thing had more waves in the body than the Pacific Ocean, hope new 1/4 panels come with it at that price.

New Reproduction Stock Hemi Intakes

New Reproduction Stock 426 Hemi Intake

This looks like a real quality reproduction, it has the Chrysler logo on it as well as all the original markings. Lots of people are buying the brand new crate hemi's and they do not come with the intake so their is a lot of demand out there for these. Rumor is the price is going to be around 1k for the intake, a little less than what stock ones are selling for.

Reproduction 340 Exhaust Manifolds

Accurate LTD has released a very hard to find Mopar product, a reproduction of the 340 Engine HP Manifolds. These are not exact reproductions, but are very close. They do not have the casting numbers in them or the heat riser. Not sure how well these will sell, isn't the point of having the original manifolds to have them exactly as original? Maybe for someone who wanted to save their original manifolds it might be practical, but I think I would either want the original thing or go with headers. Accurate LTD makes GREAT reproduction exhaust systems, but I kind of question the need for this part.

New Product Announcements

A new thing I am going to try and do with this blog is post about new product announcements in the Mopar world. These mostly will not be mine (although I will toot my own horn sometimes!) but who wants to wait for the Magazines to post about them 3-4 months after they have been released? Will see where this goes, but hoping this will be a good tool for the hobby.

Police HEMI Chargers

The new police Dodge Charger's are starting to hit the streets. Word is Washington State Patrol has eight of them they are testing, working on getting some pictures. Here is an article about NYPD getting a few of them. Can't wait until these hit the auctions so I can have a Hemi Charger on the cheap!

Slight Redesign to the B and E-Body Brackets

We have made a slight redesign to the B and E-Body Mopar front disc brake conversion brackets. These use the same parts as the ones before but you no longer have to realign your car. The rings inside the brackets in the picture are a spindle sleeve. Since the rotor is bigger than the stock bearing we use this sleeve to make up the difference.

Interesting Find From the Weekend

Got e-mailed about this car a couple of weeks ago and the guy is interested in selling it. It is a real 1968 Charger R/T and I am thinking of getting it as a project, but we will see. Would take a lot of money to restore it (the mice got to it when it was stored semi-outside for 12 years), but it is complete, and it is real.
